What's easier on the knees, ski or snowboard?

Last year I went skiing for 4 days after, my knees where Goosed really. I'm afraid to do it again this year I tell myself to try snowboarding instead, it would be easier on my knees?

I skied my whole life (30 years), and also taught. Snowboard cross is hard on the muscles of the legs, and I guess it's not really your knees are Goosed, but the muscles around them. It happens. If you love skiing, many people do, it pays to do specific exercises for skiing the season. Cycling is particularly useful. Snowboarding May be easier on the knee, there is less pressure to torsion, but it has it own problems – Eg if you eat bad there is no release of your equipment … you turn into a big egg beater, and everything is attached, I would just say try both … and go with one that is more fun for you.
