For those who enjoy a challenge, there is the Grouse Grind, a 1.8 mile (approximately 2.9 km) stretch of trail that goes straight up Grouse Mountain. There is also the Capilano Suspension Bridge to test your fear of heights, jogging trails and an oceanfront along Stanley Park and Vancouver Aquarium.

Art lovers will find no shortage of sights at places like the Vancouver Art Gallery, or on Granville Island, which is marketed under the Granville Street Bridge. Here, there are street performers, local businesses stores that contain works of art and crafts, art galleries, and a large food market. There is also the Granville Island Brewery, which offers tours and tastings during summer months.

In summer, Vancouver will host Bard on the Beach, which is an annual production of Shakespeare's plays are performed in Vanier Park. There is also the beloved HSBC Celebration of Light (formerly known as the Symphony of Fire). For over four weekends of the summer four countries have put on superb show of fireworks set to music in a competition set to English Bay. This family is one of more popular in Vancouver.

City buses and the SkyTrain bring travelers across the city – from Horseshoe Bay to the airport Vancouver International, and Maple Ridge, Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal.

Buses in the city run frequently and are accessible to people with handicapped. Runners can also lock their bikes at the front of the bus for easy commuting, and SkyTrain runs every 2 to 8 minutes depending on time of day.

SeaBus brings people from North Vancouver to downtown, giving commuters quickly and without stress to go to work, while Aquabus Ferries are small ferries that travel either side of False Creek.

Residents who live in the periphery of the Metro Vancouver area can also commute to downtown in the suburban style through the West Coast Express train.
